This is my cat.  Her name is Kitty. Lol.  She is half wild bobcat.  Don’t let her sweet face fool you – she’s a meanie!  She climbed up the Christmas tree and knocked off the Christmas tree balls, ate my retainer, and she attacks me at night as I sleep!  But we still love her.  We got her during a really cold winter.  The owner didn’t want her because she is half wild bobcat so I took her home!

Well, I tried to bring her to New York with me when I moved, but boy, was that a mistake!  My body is full of bruises and scratches.  She was bound and determined not to go.  I took her for a ride, hoping she would get used to it… but no luck!  Then I tried a second time, and I never even got her in the truck.  So now I’m up in New York with no kitty.  Instead I left her with my Grandmom (Wanda Sue) so you know she’s in good hands.

What’s happened in Haiti has brought the whole world together to help people who already had less than most before the earthquake.  Now, post-earthquake, they have even less, but that doesn’t stop them from filling their hearts with love and joy.  They’re happy to be alive.  I believe a lot of us can learn from this.
